    Question: Is there a noticable difference in weight for the two sides--plain fabric half versus the multiple selvage stitched strips triangle? Combining the blocks, would this make "waves" for wall hangings, projects, quilts, etc.?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 3 дня назад

      I don't find them that much heavier. It would be similar to using different types of fabrics in a block, such as cotton, silk, corduroy, denim, etc.

    Thanks for the great explanation. I am however terribly tension-challenged 😢. I have a Janome Continental M7 and am very pleased with the Auto-tension 😅. So if I have to adjust the tension while using invisible thread, what do I adjust it to? I hope you find time to help me here … Thanks so much.

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 2 дня назад

      I tend to loosen the top tension just a bit for invisible thread but you might not need to. First try stitching and see if the tension is okay. If it is, you don't need to do anything but if you find that the bobbin thread is pulling to the top, reduce the top tension a bit. Try again and adjust as needed. Don't be afraid to adjust tension - just do it a bit at a time until you get that sweet spot! 😉

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 2 дня назад

      Not sure what is happening and it might be that you need to take your machine in for repair but first, check to ensure that your bobbin is in the correct way - we all make this mistake once in awhile 😉. Hold the top thread when pressing the needle up/down button to bring up the bobbin thread. If this still doesn't help, I think that your machine needs some help.

    I use the blue mark be gone pen. What do you use? And how do YOU remove these markers?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 6 дней назад

      I often use Pilot Frixion pens for marking and sometimes a soap sliver (on dark fabrics) or a Chaco marker filled with iron-off chalk powder (I replace the powder that comes with it). Always test first to be sure that it will come off okay.

    I know this is an old video but I hope you will answer this comment. I have had my M7 for quite awhile and it did not come with a blue dot bobbin case. One of the reasons I purchased the machine was to do some ruler work. I had nothing but thread breakage when trying to do it. Is this blue dot bobbin case really necessary?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts 11 дней назад

      The blue dot bobbin case will help with the thread tension. If you are finding that you are having thread breakage, it may be that your free motion quilting foot is set too high so you could lower it a bit and see if that works. Check out my video on that at ruclips.net/video/qBDV3p5eV3Q/видео.htmlsi=so90Nl7eru1lc1HY
